An investigation into Lintech Electric found that over the course of three years (January 2015 to September 2018), Lintech disregarded the prevailing wage rate and underpaid its employees by almost $900,000 on multiple New York City Housing Authority projects in all five New York City boroughs. For example, the applicable prevailing wage rate for an electrician was $74 to $110 per hour, and Lintech paid its workers between $20 and $60 per hour. Several workers alerted the New York City Department of Investigation of Lintech’s underpayment of its workers, prompting an audit that exposed unlawful conduct.
