Right Rail

Description

Green was electrocuted when operating a machine used to pound guard rail posts into the ground along M-65. When Green was standing alongside the machine, the boom truck moved forward bringing the machine into contact with an energized overhead line and electrocuting Green. MIOSHA’s inspection revealed that Green had experienced a similar event in Sept. 2002 when his boom truck came into contact with an electrical line, for which he was injured and hospitalized. After the first incident, Right Rail failed to establish an accident prevention program.
