On January 16, Policy Analyst Catalina Gonzalez and Senior Policy Analyst James Goodwin submitted comments on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Achieving Health and Environmental Protection Through EPA’s Meaningful Involvement Policy. They applauded the EPA for its commitment to ensuring that the public has a meaningful opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of its policies, noted that the draft policy is strong overall, and offered key recommendations to help EPA better fulfill the Biden administration’s stated goals of strengthening public engagement in government and addressing the problems of racial injustice and other forms of structural discrimination.
