Shaping the Carbon Plan Through Community Engagement

Climate Justice Climate Energy Environmental Justice North Carolina

North Carolina policymakers are paving the way for a Carbon Plan that’s supposed to steer the state toward a sustainable future while safeguarding community health. This plan holds immense potential to revolutionize how we approach energy, from reducing air pollution to fostering economic growth and bolstering environmental sustainability.

On March 13, we co-hosted a webinar with CleanAIRE NC, where presenters delved deep into the intricacies of the Carbon Plan and how it impacts every corner of North Carolina. Topics included air quality improvements and ensuring public health, economic opportunities, and environmental protection. The webinar also explained how North Carolina residents can take action to ensure a strong, effective Carbon Plan is put in place as the state moves toward carbon neutrality by 2050.
