Terrill North is Executive Director of the Center for Progressive Reform, joining the organization in August 2026.
Prior to the Center, Terrill served as a Partner with New Profit, a venture philanthropy focused on democracy, education, and economic mobility. Before that, he was Executive Director of Hoffberger Family Philanthropies in Baltimore, where he introduced its environmental grants program and community participation in grantmaking, and the Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth, and Families (which included leadership of the Montgomery County Conservation Corps).
Earlier in his career, Terrill served as Chief of Staff to a Member of Congress from New York and Policy Director to a Member of Congress from Massachusetts. He began his career in Washington as an Associate Legislative Representative with Earthjustice.
Terrill is a graduate of Howard University, where he received a B.A. with honors in Communications. He earned his juris doctorate at Columbia University and holds a master’s degree in education from the Broad Center at Yale School of Management. Terrill has completed additional studies in nonprofit leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.
