Joshua Briggs

Former Policy Intern

jbriggs@progressivereform.org

Center for Progressive Reform

Joshua joined the Center as a policy intern in May 2023, deeply committed to leveraging his knowledge of law and storytelling to champion an equitable response to the climate crisis. Currently pursuing his law degree at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University with a focus on energy policy, Joshua was thrilled to help support the Center as it expands its work in this space.

His academic experience includes time with the Pace Energy and Climate Center, where he focused on researching a variety of policy issues related to the implementation of multi-building geothermal systems to make communities greener. He has also served as the Treasury Secretary for the joint 2023 “New Directions in Environmental Law and Food Law Student Leadership Summit” conference, hosted at Yale University, helping facilitate conversations between leaders in the environmental law space on a variety of topics, including food sovereignty, Indigenous rights, ocean protections, and sustainable business.

Outside of work, he loves cooking the bounties of the Hudson Valley, cycling, and being outdoors — and hopes to work to protect these experiences for future generations. Joshua was thrilled to be at the Center and contribute to its mission of advancing progressive policy for the public good.
