On September 12, the Center joined Upgrade Maryland, Maryland PIRG, and other organizations and advocates in joint comments to the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC). The comments focused on long-term planning for methane gas usage, service, and companies in the state. Specifically, the comments encouraged the PSC and related Special Master to use the commission’s “future of gas” proceeding to protect state residents from the growing costs of Maryland’s aging methane gas pipelines and to jumpstart a smooth, equitable transition to clean, efficient electric home heating and appliances.
